Scope of application and principles

This privacy policy informs users of this website about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by Ximpulse GmbH, as part of the management of PolitExchange, in accordance with the relevant data protection regulations, namely the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection of September 25, 2020 (Data Protection Act, DSG).

The protection of your privacy is important to us. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. It is generally possible to use our website without providing personal data. If personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our website, this is done on a voluntary basis. Some of this data is passed on to third parties in accordance with this privacy policy (see below). We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Scope and purpose of data collection

The www.politexchange.ch website is used without providing any personal data. However, the following data may be collected for statistical purposes when the website is accessed: Website visited, time at the time of access, amount of data sent in bytes, source (from which you accessed the page), browser used, operating system used, IP address used. The data collected is only used for statistical evaluations and to improve the website www.politexchange.ch. Ximpulse GmbH is entitled to check the server log files retrospectively if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.

We also collect or create personal data as part of our offering of services and when we obtain personal data from other sources to supplement and update the information required for the purposes mentioned.

Handling and protection of personal data

If you contact us using the contact options provided, your data will be stored so that it can be used to process and respond to your inquiry. We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, misuse, loss or destruction. Your personal data collected by us will neither be sold nor shared with third parties.

  • The Swiss Capital Region as owner of the “Politexchange” brand, whose competence center for governance study visits is managed by Ximpulse GmbH, for the purpose of reporting;
  • The service providers to whom we outsource certain support services for the PolitExchange/Ximpulse services (e.g. IT services and accounting);
  • To third parties that we engage with the prior consent of our clients for the performance of our services (e.g. experts who participate in study visits, translation agencies);
  • To third parties who are involved in the implementation or organization of events (e.g. providers of conference rooms, hotels).

Personal data may also be passed on to third parties if this is necessary to comply with legal provisions.

We may also transfer your personal data to recipients abroad, including countries that do not guarantee a level of data protection equivalent to Swiss law. We will transfer data if and insofar as this is necessary in the context of the agreed services and in your interest.

Processing of data when using our website
